Cirque du Soleil Theme Park

One of the biggest and well-known names in circus and live theatre is Cirque du Soleil, who have residences at Disney resorts, Las Vegas, as well as travelling shows all around the world. Now Cirque du Soleil is bringing its unique imagery and performance to the world of attractions and entertainment, with an all-new Cirque du Soleil theme park set to open in 2018.

Located in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico (an interesting choice for a Canadian theatre troupe with a French name), the park is already being tipped as one of the world’s most groundbreaking theme park resort destinations when it opens in just a couple of years’ time. Although the plans are still being kept very secret at the moment, there is some gorgeous concept art available on the Internet, and there are certain things we do know. There will be luxury hotels on site, a water park, a nature park, and dedicated outdoor show areas for nighttime spectaculars.

As any theme park enthusiast would say, the rides are at the heart of most, if not all, successful theme parks. No specific details regarding rides have been revealed yet, but this hasn’t stopped the online community from speculating and sharing their hopes and dreams about crazy stuff like acrobat and trapeze roller coasters and the like. We’ll just have to wait and see what develops on this front as the project continues.

Further details regarding this can be found on various sites online, and I’ll be continuing to follow the story as I get news of further developments. It’ll be interesting and exciting to see what kind of project arrives in Mexico in a couple of years’ time with one of the world’s most spectacular theatre shows as its backdrop.

Thanks for reading, and enjoy the rest of your stay here at Along for the Ride.
