Knott’s Berry Farm to Open New Top Scan

Following on from the announcement of several new rides and attractions coming to various Cedar Fair parks in 2017, it has now been revealed that a new flat ride is to join the line-up of attractions at Knott’s Berry Farm.

Sol Spin is slated to open in spring 2017 and will be a Mondial Top Scan, making it the second new Top Scan to open at a Cedar Fair park in 2017 after Electro-Spin was announced for Carowinds earlier this year. Sol Spin will be located in the Fiesta Village area of the park, which carries a Mexican and Aztec theme and contains both thrilling and more family-friendly attractions. The new ride will definitely be sited more towards the thrill rides end of the spectrum, and will join fellow Fiesta Village attractions La Revolución, an Afterburner attraction, and launched coaster Montezooma’s Revenge in this respect. The area also contains a second roller coaster in Jaguar!, which interacts with Montezooma’s Revenge while being more geared towards a family audience.

This is just one addition to the many new changes already announced for Knott’s Berry Farm next year. Knott’s Soak City waterpark will receive a major expansion with two new slide towers, while the popular Ghost Town Alive experience will return to the park, turning the Ghost Town themed area into a kind of living museum populated with characters representing this classic era of America. With expansions to Seasons of Fun, Knott’s Boysenberry Festival and a new Boardwalk Barbeque restaurant all set to debut as well, 2017 looks set to be an exciting year for Knott’s and Cedar Fair as a whole.
